Die guten freunde

The good friends. Wie die Tiere den Jager begraben (How the animals bury the hunter). This project was inspired by a classic children´s folklore illustration from 1850 by Moritz Von Schwind. The illustration depicts the animals of the forest that, once hunted, now escort the hunter´s coffin. The procession is a fantastic reversal of roles.
It is both satirical and sober, in addition to being paradoxical. It may also reflect the admiration the hunter once had for his prey that is now being returned by the forest animals out of respect. Sociologically it suggests the inversion of the power structure found in an oppressive hierarchy.
